Case 07 / 07Eish Baladi: Bread & Coffee2020
Eish Baladi
'Eish baladi' means 'my bread', one of the most everyday phrases in Egyptian life. The brief wanted premium. I wanted to protect what was already warm in the word.

Case study
Eish Baladi
The founder came in pulling toward modern Egyptian: geometric marks, restrained palette, the language of premium retail. But 'eish baladi' is not a premium phrase. It's what you say when you mean the bread of my neighbourhood, the bread that belongs to me. Stripping it into a sleek mark would have gutted the name before anyone opened the box. The challenge was staying honest about its origins while executing it well enough to hold up on a contemporary shelf.
